Congrats Sophia. I really hope that you will focus on HBCU's I attended Hampton University and majored in Education but Teach for America never came to our school and sought us out, we sought them out but many were denied I hope you will assist in a change in this. I believe it is important to have teachers that look like the children they are teaching. I hope you will commit to this and seriously connect with the Education Dept at HBCU's.

Thanks for all you have shared. I hope the next person who does this blog will contact us so we may read about his/her class.

About Me

My name is Sophia Pappas, and I teach pre-kindergarten at an inner-city public school in New Jersey.

By sharing my classroom and my thoughts, I hope to give you more insight into the benefits of high-quality pre-k and how we can all play a role in creating and improving these vital programs. And I want to know what you think, too, so please don’t be shy about leaving comments and using this blog as an outlet for ideas, reflection, and debate.
